Tin Can Windsocks

Next to a high-flying flag, these patriotic windsocks are the perfect way to spruce up your 4th of July celebration. After all, nothing symbolizes freedom like blowing freely in the wind.

  • You’ll Need:
  • 2 large cans
  • Blue spray paint
  • White paint and star stencils (or white star stickers)
  • Red, white and blue ribbon
  • Twine
  • Screwdriver
  • Hammer
  • hot glue
  • Step 1

    Peel off the label of 2 large cans and clean them out.

  • Step 2

    Spray paint the can and let dry.

  • Step 3

    Paint on your stars using the stencils.

  • Step 4

    Punch 2 holes into the top of each can by using your screwdriver and hammer.

  • Step 5

    Poke twine through the holes and tie it together.

  • Step 6

    Cut the ribbon into strips about 15 inches long.

  • Step 7

    Add the strips of ribbon to the open end of the can using hot glue.

  • Step 8

    Hang it from your porch, in your yard, or from a tree and let your colors fly.
